Sunday, March 5

More Big Green Egg BBQ! We plan to party hardy Saturday night, sleep in (a bit) Sunday morning, wake up… and start grilling. What better way is there to wrap up a weekend of wine, food, and fun in Charleston?

At noon, our secret weapon host Jimmy Carbone will roll in to host a “Tripel” episode of Beer Sessions you won’t want to miss with a mix of brewers, bartenders, and chefs including Cameron Read and Timmons Pettigrew of Edmund’s Oast, Jared Rogers from Pawpaw, Greg Garrsion of Prohibition, Nick Leahy of Saltyard, Adam Sappington of The Country Cat, and more! The only requirement for these guests: they must love beer.

In the afternoon we’ll depart from traditional Southern cuisine and learn about a different kind, food of the Global South. Chefs Maneet Chuahan of Nashville’s Chauhan Ale & Masala House and Meherwan Irani of Chai Pani will discuss their backgrounds, inspirations, and roadblocks to cooking Indian food in the Southern United States.

As our scheduled weekend comes to a close, Jimmy Carbone will be back with our friend, local James Beard award-winning Chef Robert Stehling of Hominy Grill to host our second annual game of Charleston Trivia! Come through and test your city knowledge, or tune in and learn something about the Big Sweet Grass Basket (like where that name comes from!).
