Lauriel Stewart
Social Media Coordinator (she/her)
Lauriel is a creative consultant with a passion for storytelling. She grew up in Denver, CO and her family made their way to Atlanta, GA when she was in middle school. After high school Lauriel attended Tuskegee University in Alabama where she studied food science. Upon graduation in 2016 Lauriel navigated to State College, PA to pursue a master of science in food science from The Pennsylvania State University. Once her schooling was complete in 2018, Lauriel took a gap year to travel and spend time with her family. Her creative spark was activated during this time and she began her social media consulting business as a freelancer for food and wellness focused organizations. She made her way to New York from 2019 to 2022 where she worked as a researcher in Manhattan for 1 year with The Leak Research Group and she also spent 1 year in the Hudson Valley at Cafe Spice doing research and development at the bench top and commercial scales. While in New York she continued to develop her skills as a social media strategist and assisted food and wellness organizations with their marketing initiatives during her spare-time. In the spring of 2022 Lauriel made her way back to Atlanta, GA where she currently resides. Lauriel is passionate about sharing stories within the food system to raise awareness about equity, sustainability, and wellness initiatives. She seeks to make a difference in the world by bringing people together around the idea that food should be an equitable resource and encouraging others to look into the sustainable practices for food cultivation and processing. She enjoys working at the farmers market on the weekends and meeting the farmers and business owners who make up the framework of the food system in Atlanta.
