The Children’s Aid Society has being helping under-served communities in New York City for 150 years. This week on Feeding the Future, Orianne Cosentino is joined in the studio by Stefania Patinella, the organization’s Food & Nutrition Director. Homemade “Ice Cream”

(yields 16 servings for snack)
1 (32-ounce) container low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 (8-ounce) bag frozen peaches (or other frozen fruit)
1 (8-ounce) bag frozen mixed berries (or other frozen fruit)
Zest of Â½ orange
Freeze yogurt by placing the yogurt container in the freezer for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Remove from freezer 10 minutes before making ice cream, and break it up into chunks with a fork.
Put yogurt, fruit, and orange zest in a food processor.
Pulse until you get a thick puree that looks like ice-cream or frozen yogurt.
