Ice Cream Month: Nudo Olive Oil and Hip Pops
Once again, Nicole Taylor is celebrating National Ice Cream Month with another refreshing episode of Hot Grease. On this week's installment, Nicole remembers Harlem's Sylvia Woods of celebrated soul food restaurant Sylvia's, who just passed away at the age of 86. Later, Nicole interviews Jason Gibbs of Nudo Olive Oil. Jason and Nicole discuss olive oil purity and shelf life, the importance of fresh olives in production, olive oil flavors, and the best oils to add to your favorite ice cream flavors! Nicole goes back to her geographical roots and talks with Athenian Melissa Fontaine. Melissa is the owner of Hip Hops, an artisanal ice pop stand in Athens, Georgia. Nicole and Melissa talk about the beginnings of the company, and how all of the flavors came to pay homage to hip hop's greats. This episode has been sponsored by Hearst Ranch.
