Without the demand for fish from New York and New Jersey restaurants, there are a lot of New England fish without a place to go. We spoke with Jared Auerbach of Red’s Best Boston, who has launched a Facebook campaign encouraging individuals and restaurants to “change their taste for a weekend” and eat New England fish.
“We started to get creative. We started a Facebook and Twitter campaign to try and get people to change their taste for the weekend… we were reaching out to people who are open for business. Just this one weekend, if they all put a local or domestic fish on their menu instead of the imported fish they are serving, it would go a long way.”—
