Richard Hottelet: 1st Eyewitness of D Day Dies at 97

Richard C Hottelet, the first eyewitness reporter to cover the D-Day invasion of Normandy, died in his sleep on December 17th. He was 97 years old. Hottelet was hired by Edward Murrow at age 26 to cover World War II for CBS. This group of several men and one woman came to be known as the "Murrow Boys."
