Primary Food: A new look at what feeds us

unnamed

For Rev. DJ CherishTheLuv, food we eat is secondary food. Primary food is everything life that nourishes us before we eat—our creativity, our relationships, our spirituality, physical activity, and more.

Heritage Radio Network is proud to debut Primary Food, hosted by Rev. DJ CherishTheLuv. She is currently undergoing aggressive cancer treatment and seeking the finest, and funnest, things in life.

Primary Food airs live every Thursday at 6:00pm EST. Episodes are available on demand at HeritageRadioNetwork.org. We recommend subscribing on iTunes for the freshest episodes downloaded automatically every week!

From Rev DJ CherishTheLuv

Why did you decide to create Primary Food?

We easily can talk about what we ate and recall what we fed ourselves today, but we find it harder to talk about all the other ways in which we NOURISHED ourselves today. Non-food nourishment comes in all forms: our relationships, our jobs, travel, furthered education, our spirituality, our physical activity, connection to music and dance, creative output, etc.

When we have high quality primary food, the food we eat, secondary food, tends to be higher quality as well. This isn’t something I hear people discussing, but it is the concept that changed the course of my cancer treatment. This is why I have been teaching this concept, in person, and on air, to anyone I can, because I know that just this one conversation can change a life, as it changed mine.
