HRN Hall of Fame: Cathy Erway
Cathy Erway is a James Beard Award-winning food writer and the author of the cookbook, The Food of Taiwan: Recipes from the Beautiful Island and the memoir The Art of Eating In: How I Learned to Stop Spending and Love the Stove. For nearly 10 years, she has interviewed cookbook authors, food policy experts, essayists and novelists on HRN’s Eat Your Words. Cathy started writing about food in 2006 with her blog, Not Eating Out In New York. She chronicled two years of not going to restaurants on the blog, and discovered the many benefits to cooking and sourcing ingredients on her own. The experience left her dedicated to approaching, and writing about food with an appreciation for the many hands involved in bringing the food to the table.
