Bianca Garcia
Research and Radio Intern (she/her)
Bianca (she/her) was born and raised in Hong Kong to a Filipino family, so that her love of food is as inevitable as it is culturally endowed. Moving between a new home in San Francisco and Ithaca, New York, she is enamoured by the ways that cuisine writes personal and migratory histories and modern moments. Bianca attends Cornell University, where she majors in anthropology, has accidentally picked up minors in nutrition and science and technology studies, captains her varsity equestrian team, and is writing a thesis with the working title of “Feminisms within the Food as Medicine Movement.” As a lover of ethnography, the interview, and as someone who soundtracks her life with podcasts, Bianca is excited to lean into the audio space at HRN as a way of paving a career in food journalism.
