They grew up in New York City where they developed a passion for food as they followed their dad to markets all around the city. They have spent the last several years working in cheese shops and apprenticing on organic farms, experiences that taught them to value the embodied labor and craftsmanship integral to food production. Liv graduated from Bowdoin College where they studied history and wrote a senior thesis titled, “Greening the Market: Natural Groceries from the Countercuisine to Whole Foods” which explored the counterculture’s popularization of natural foods and the marketization of the organic food industry. Liv enjoys exploring the relationship between language and taste, cooking Shabbat dinner with friends, and dancing.
