Stella is a rising junior at Sarah Lawrence College, with a concentration in journalism. Her passion for food justice was ignited by a Food Environments, Health, and Social Justice class in college. However, her love of food began as a child, watching the Food Network and mimicking her favorite chefs in the kitchen. As a DC native who spent many of her childhood years in Abu Dhabi, she has developed an appreciation for diverse food culture and traditional foodways. When she is not eating her way through Trader Joe’s frozen meal selection or trying new recipes, she enjoys nature walks and spending time at museums. Stella’s passion lies primarily in food equity, preservation of foodways, and destigmatizing food related illness. She is excited to delve into such topics while at HRN, as well as gain experience in the realm of audio journalism.
