Michael Ruhlman

HRN Hall of Fame: Michael Ruhlman

Nominated by: Feast Yr Ears

Ohio native Michael Ruhlman attended cooking school in order to write a book about what it means to be a chef. The result? He fell in love with the topic and went to write more than 20 acclaimed books—the majority about food and cooking theory—that hold a special spot on people’s bookshelves and kitchen counters. His most recent book Grocery: The Buying and Selling of Food in America speaks volumes about the state of the grocery store in America in the early 21st century, and how we can navigate this confusing part of modern life.
