Mike Colameco is the host of  the popular, long standing,PBS series “Mike Colameco’s Real Food” airing year-round weekly on 13WNET at 3PM and Sundays on NJTV at 3:30 PM and nationally on CREATE TV 3 times per day Sunday through Fridays starting September 5th, 2014. The PBS shows can also be viewed on any handheld or computer streamed live via the 13WNET.org or PBS.org web sites, and soon on AMAZON Prime.  Mike also hosts the popular Mike Colameco’s Food Talk on the Heritage Radio Network Weekly, October through June, Thursdays from 4 – 5PM streamed live and pod cast on iTunes and Stitcher. His book, Mike Colameco’s Food Lovers Guide to New York City was published by John Wiley and Sons in 2009,  he writes a regular column in each issue of Guitar Aficionado and has written as well for Saveur, Edible Manhattan and Edible New Jersey. Michael was born and raised in Philadelphia where he started working in restaurants at the age of 13. After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America he  worked as a line cook at “Four Season’s Restaurant” under Chef Seppi Rengli in 1982. Throughout the 1980s, he was Sous Chef at “Maurice Restaurant,” Restaurant Chef at “Cellar in the Sky” “Windows on The World,” Exec. Sous Chef/Night Chef at “Tavern on The Green”, Executive Chef at “The Ritz Carlton” on Central Park South in NYC and  the Chef Owner of the “Globe Restaurant” in Cape May, NJ for 6 seasons. Mike’s hobbies include playing and collecting electric and acoustic guitars, running, open water ocean swimming, weight lifting, bird watching, surfing, karate, boxing, listening to music and of course dining out all over Manhattan and pairing food and wine.
