HRN on Sandy
HRN on Sandy - Bar Community / Ivy Mix & Jason Litrell
We spoke with Ivy Mix about the ins and outs of volunteering in an emergency situation. Ivy talked about local efforts to help out of work food workers to take over shifts in restaurants and bars that are able to open. We also spoke with Jason Litrell, NYC chapter leader of a nonprofit organization that helps bartenders get back to work after the Hurricane. "There are people in Red Hook who are trying to figure out a shift trade initiative with people who might be able to give up a shift... this isn't going away. This is the key thing for people to remember. Last week was not an extended vacation. This is going to effect us for a very long time... it is important to figure out some kind of network."--Ivy Mix, co-founder of Speed Rack
