Bill Telepan has been a fixture of the New York City restaurant scene for a few decades now, and a hallmark of his cuisine has always been his support of local farmers. But I’m tipping him for HOF, because of his work as Executive Chef of Wellness in the Schools since 2008. I can’t say it any better than that organization’s website: “As the first chef to join the team, Bill has served as a leader of the WITS Cook for Kids program, by developing nutritious school menus, training WITS chefs and cafeteria staff, teaching culinary and nutrition concepts to students, parents and teachers, and engaging professional chefs across the country.”
