HRN Hall of Fame: Steve Hindy

Nominated by: Beer Sessions Radio

Steve Hindy is the founder of Brooklyn Brewery and a pioneer of craft beer. On Beer Sessions Radio episodes, host Jimmy Carbone’s enthusiasm for having him on the show in demonstrated in his typical introduction: “Beer royalty is in the house this week, as Brooklyn Brewery founder Steve Hindy joins the program.” On top of his other accomplishments, Steve is a board member of the national brewers association and author of the book: The Craft Beer Revolution: How a Band of Microbrewers Is Transforming the World’s Favorite Drink. His commitment to keeping it local is clear in his advocacy for NYC beer and food manufacturing – he himself kept Brooklyn Brewery in NYC, when no one thought breweries could afford to open here.
