Therese Nelson is a writer, chef and steward of Black culinary history. She consistently stands up for Black chefs and writers, and teaching the next generation about the history of Black cooks in this country. The proud native of Newark, New Jersey has been published in many publications, and is the first writer-in- residence for Taste Magazine. She is also a classically trained chef and runs her own catering business in New York City.
