Since she first began writing about food in 1972, Ruth Reichl has set the bar incredibly high for the rest of us. She was Editor-in-Chief of Gourmet Magazine from 1999 to 2009. Before that she was the restaurant critic of both the New York Times (1993-1999) and the Los Angeles Times (1984-1993), where she was also named food editor. Ruth’s commitment to showing people how to revel in the joy of eating, while also understanding that making food is an ethical act, has also resulted in many best-selling memoirs, including her most recent book Save Me the Plums.
